The Digital Innovation (DI) / Expert Services (XS) team has a long-standing tradition of hosting an annual meeting focused on developing personal relationships with our teammates, being one team, and working hard to transcend our profession and tap into our passion. These events are not boondoggles; they are well-planned and managed two-day meetings that require months of preparation by attendees. Attendees should be prepared to do the necessary prework and show up ready to engage and contribute passionately.
With the post-pandemic world upon us, it's time to get back to some of the things that have been critical in helping us build and drive the Digital Innovation (DI) / Expert Services (XS) business. Anyone who has participated in these meetings knows that we frame everything around "why" because our passion is "why" we do what we do, what we do, and how we do it, are nothing without our ability to clearly articulate our motivations. Over the years, the best projects have always been the most inspired projects, not the most technical ones, but the projects where everything flows from "why."
I am excited that we can bring this meeting back in person. I promise to maintain our unique tradition of fiscal responsibility and mediocre accommodations so we can maintain perspective and stay focused on the goals of the meeting, bringing EVERYONE together, and challenging ourselves and others to be better. 😊
Some people got off easy last year as part of our virtual meeting, justifying their lack of execution with reasons (excuses) like "I am not a developer." FTR, this will not fly this year. Today is April 12, 2022, and between now and June 21, 2022, there are 1666 hours (at the time of writing this); that's a lifetime. There are no excuses; there is only a lack of commitment. If I hear "I am not a developer" this year, I promise to bring the number of the beast to life. Total coincidence that the last three digits in the hours above are the number of the beast; just lucky because the opportunity to refer brought me joy. 😊
We are looking forward to seeing everyone in Las Vegas from June 20th to 23rd, where we will hack the days away and have some budget-friendly.
