About

The E. Paul Torrance Lecture, sponsored by the UGA College of Education’s Torrance Center for Creativity and Talent Development, annually brings scholars and creative artists to UGA to discuss issues related to creativity. It was established in 1985 to honor Torrance, a native Georgian and pioneer in research on the identification and development of creative potential.

The 2024 Annual Lecture features Nigel Osborne, Emeritus Professor of Music and Human Sciences at University of Edinburgh, with his presentation A New Era for Music and Art in Service of Community Healing.

This event is brought to you by The Torrance Center for Creativity and Talent Development at the University of Georgia, directed and chaired by E. Paul Torrance Professor, Dr. Anna Abraham, and coordinated by Shelley Downs, Outreach Coordinator for the center.
