The Natspec National Conference takes place on 13 and 14 June, 2023. It is the go-to event for FE professionals who work with students who have EHC plans and/or are funded through the high needs system. This year, in order to accommodate more delegates, we have moved to an exciting new venue: The Crowne Plaza in Stratford-upon-Avon.
Recent months have presented the FE sector with considerable challenges: staff recruitment and retention; the cost-of-living crisis; rising energy bills and an extended period of uncertainty about government plans for the SEND system. Across our two-day programme, we will be reflecting on how to lead in difficult times: how to maintain and improve quality of provision, protect the learner experience and take good care of staff, including leaders having regard for their own wellbeing.
We will also be looking to the future. Through the keynote and workshop sessions, the conference will provide you with aspirational ideas for developing your practice and provision. Come and find out about becoming a greener college, setting up social enterprises, taking on apprentices or co-location of general and specialist FE colleges. Learn how to adopt a coaching style of leadership, plan your specialist CPD offer, or design your sex and relationships curriculum. Check out the conference programme to explore the full range of learning opportunities on offer.
As always, there will be plenty of time across the two days to network with other SEND professionals and find out about new products and services offered by our varied range of exhibitors. You’ll also be entertained and informed by our student speakers and performers. We hope you will leave with an ambitious to-do list, new connections and greater enthusiasm than ever for working with young people with SEND.
